The program was created as a universal game hacker. It scans a game’s memory or files to find specific values (money, resources, etc.). There can be many such values, so the search is divided into two stages: finding values and filtering out unwanted ones. In the end you obtain addresses where the numbers are stored, and you can change them to whatever you want. Special methods allow you to bypass even games that don’t display numeric values (for example, a graphical health bar) or games that encode their data.
ArtMoney does not work in networked multiplayer (i.e., player-versus-player), because values like money may be duplicated across multiple machines and changing the amount on one computer (yours) usually has no effect—though there are exceptions.
The PRO edition advantages include the ability to use a folder or whole disk as the search object, additional conditions for searching and filtering, formula-based filtering (with formulas you can find virtually anything), string search, suppression of the “About” window at startup, and full technical support by email. ArtMoney SE is a free edition with somewhat limited features.
What’s new in ArtMoney 8.18.1 Pro? Search/filter speed for big-endian data types (used by emulators for Sony PlayStation 2/3, Nintendo GameCube/Wii, and others) has been increased two- to threefold. A crash when filtering an unknown value for the big-endian “4‑byte float” type has been fixed. An error in searches for the “10‑byte float” type on 32‑bit Windows has been fixed.
